Knowing God’s Will

“I am praying about it.” “I am waiting for the Lord to show me exactly what to do.”
These are common statements that well intended Christians say. However, this is where a lot of Christians stay, in the praying or waiting stage. Did you know there are verses in the Bible that tells you EXACTLY what God’s will is for your life?
Yes, you heard me correctly! God clearly states things Christians are to practice without having to pray about it or wait to make sure it is His will. Over the next few articles, I would like to discuss these “will of God” statements. As we journey through this study, notice what God says in His Word about how He “leads” us; which means He guides us while we are taking action. Did you get that, yes, we are to take action, actively pursue God’s righteousness. “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” (2 Timothy 2:22) Notice all the action? See the words flee and follow. It doesn’t say pray and wait. Those have there places, but not here. Action is the key when knowing God’s will for our life. Only when we are doing all that God commands in these “will of God” statements are we to wait patiently on the Lord. Once we begin this study, hopefully, you will get a clearer explaination of this “action” we as Christians are supposed to be taking.
If you are reading this article and not a Christian, my friend, being born-again is the first and ONLY will of God at this moment of your life. Only after you are born-again are you to heed to the words of this article. Any other order, then you will be doing so in vain. Please visit this article, Have You Been Born-Again, for more information about why each one of use need to be born-again.
